ABOUT MURPHY’S ARBORIST REPORTS

There are a few reasons you may need a tree inspection report and the main ones are you are hoping to have a dangerous tree removed or you have a development application lodged with council and you need the accompanying documentation. Councils require arborist reports to prove the condition of a tree before giving approval to have it modified or removed.

In line with the environmental protection act, local councils need to have confirmation that the tree/s risk outweighs it’s retainability before giving approval to remove a tree.

What will be included in my tree report?

  • Faults or damage to the tree rendering it unsafe / unsuitable
  • Disease or pests causing damage to the tree
  • Method of assessment
  • The type and species of the tree
  • Recommended actions and justification for removal
  • Written and photographic report
  • Site plans
  • Statement of environment effects
  • Heritage impact statement (if applicable)

Murphy’s can offer two types of reports, depending on what exactly it is for and what your local council area is will determine what type of report is needed. If you need to lodge an application with council, we can also offer this as a complete service from start to finish to save you the hassle.
